Editorial scope
The directory covers funeral directors operating across the North and South Islands, with regional pages for each main centre. Editorial guides explain the legal framework families navigate after a death — the Burial and Cremation Act 1964, coronial process, prepaid funeral schemes regulated under the Funeral Trusts Act, and the Work and Income funeral grant.
Listing standards
The directory is a transcription of one public source: the Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand member register. A firm is listed here if it appears there, and for no other reason. We do not assess funeral homes, we do not check complaints records, we hold no relationship with any of them, and none has asked to be listed or paid to be. Within each region, firms are listed alphabetically. Every regional page carries the date we read the register, because membership changes and a stale list is worse than no list.
